sweet tooth

First and foremost, I'd like to dedicate this post to my mother. Because of you, Mom, I have inherited quite the sweet tooth. Your bowls of candy on the coffee table, your late night cookies and candy cravings, and your need to have dessert after dinner has now been channeled to me. Not that I'm complaining, because I love chocolate and all of its deliciousness, but still, I can see it being a potential problem in the future.

Actually, as I'm writing this, I'm eating a Nestle Drumstick. Yummmm {see Mom, you've trained me well}! But it's okay, because I had a nice, delicious salad for dinner, with some warm French bread, so having something for dessert is quite acceptable, at least in my book.

What about you, do you have a sweet tooth?

Sarah

the wallet

For Thomas and I's most recent anniversary, we decided to get each other a small gift a piece. While he got me some very nice well, under garments, I had the hardest time finding something special for him. He is such a hard person to shop for because he never really asks for much. He's a simple guy, and usually just enjoys the stuff he already has. However, that was just not acceptable this time.

Just as I was about to give up all hope, I saw a commercial for a wallet. Now, before I tell you about the wallet commercial, you should know that Thomas has the biggest obsession with wallets. It doesn't matter if he just bought a new one, I always find him scoping out the wallet section of whatever store we happen to be in. Okay, so about this commercial. It showed a paper-esque wallet {completely made from recycled material} that comes in about a hundred different designs {I got him the stamp design}. It can be folded and shaped however you would like it, and it never tears. So, of course, I had to get it for him. It was the perfect gift.

It came today, and he absolutely loved it! Kudos to the girlfriend.

Sarah

oh coffee,

how you've failed me.

Hi, my name is Sarah, and I am a coffee drinker. A frequent coffee drinker. Borderline obsessive coffee drinker. It's getting so bad that every night before I get into bed, I think about the hot, steaming cup of coffee I'll have the following morning, and it's all I will think about for the remainder of my time awake. Sometimes I think about making coffee before bed, but then I remind myself that I'll never get to bed, which means less time for coffee in the morning. Moral of the story is, I love coffee, and I depend on it to wake my system up, every morning. And it usually does. Except for today...

As usual, I had my morning cup o' joe with breakfast (which was extremely yummy, by the way), and got ready and headed off to class. However, in said class, I immediately began getting tired. So tired that my eyelids were becoming too heavy for me to hold up. It was an internal battle just to stay awake, but I succeeded.

This has never happened to me after I've had my coffee. So, I'd just like to ask, what is going on? Why is my coffee working against me, rather than with me? I'm really hoping this is a one-time occurrence. I can not have this happen again.

Do you have a obsession with anything?

inspiration

(Flowers Thomas got me during the summer. I loved them so much!)

All afternoon, instead of doing homework and/or studying for an exam I have on Wednesday, I've been reading blogs for hours on end. Seriously, it's ridiculous how much time I've dedicated to reading each post, but that's alright because they've inspired me to make a list. A list of things I'm excited for in the next couple of weeks. So here it is:

1. Seeing the boyfriend again this Thursday. I realize I've seen him two weekends in a row already, but you know what? I don't care! I just love him so much that seeing him for a weekend isn't enough, which is why I shall be seeing him again this weekend.

2. Halloween! Even though I probably won't be dressing up and celebrating, I still feel excited that a holiday is just around the corner. Plus, after Halloween is Thanksgiving, and I'm sooo ready for some hearty pumpkin pie!

3. The Thursday after next, the boyfriend and I are packing our bags and headin' to Virginia! {more on this topic later} We're flying and let me tell you how excited I am....SUPER EXCITED! All of my life, I've dreamed of traveling with my boyfriend {on a plane mind you}, and just enjoying vacation bliss together, and it's finally happening! Yippeeee!

4. An opportunity to wear this super cute coat I just bought for the cooler weather. Which needs to hurry up and get here. It was here only for a short time, and I miss it already. Please come back beautiful weather, you were so nice to me once before. {I couldn't find the coat online, so you'll have to believe me when I say it's super cute!}

5. A break! Thanksgiving is all about being thankful, so let me tell you how thankful I will be to get a break from all the stress and chaos that has become known as school. I'm ready for home-cooked meals, seeing my precious baby {my adorable cat, Mufasa}, and spending some q-time with my family.

But now I must go do some studying and reading for class tomorrow.
Have a great Tuesday!

xoxo,
Sarah

I can finally breathe.

(This is in front of a Disney pumpkin in Downtown Disney. Too cute!)

Since my last update, I've had the pleasure of spending two weekends in a row with my wonderful family and lovely boyfriend, Thomas. Let me just tell you, it's been so great. It feels so refreshing not having a million things going on at once, and being able to just breathe.

Last weekend, I went to Orlando to visit Thomas. It was so lovely. Friday night we went on a date, which consisted of dinner and a movie, and then Ben & Jerry's for ice cream afterward. It was so great to just spend time with him and not have a care in the world about much else. Especially anything regarding academics.

Saturday morning, my family arrived! After relaxing by the pool, we went to Downtown Disney to window shop, then to Ikea for dinner and exploring. They were still up for more exploring, so Thomas and I took them around town, showing them our favorite places. It was such a great time, and we all enjoyed each others' company. I don't see my family quite as much as I see Thomas, so it was quite the treat spending the weekend with them.

I was able to spend time with them again this weekend, for my mother's birthday. We shared many laughs, an ice cream cake, and homemade banana chocolate chip pancakes (courtesy of my chef-to-be boyfriend). Unfortunately, they left early this morning, but the little time spent together was well worth it.

Saturday was also Thomas and I's one year and five month anniversary. I'm so happy to have him in my life, for both his love and friendship.

Hope you have a wonderful week!
xoxo,
Sarah

stressed to the max.

It's been forever and a day since I've last updated this, which saddens me because it means that my life has evolved into one big ball of stress. Between three exams in one week, copious amounts of reading, visiting with my boyfriend, and squeezing time in for my family, I barely have enough time for myself. I need a me day! Is that too much to ask for?

This past weekend, I had a complete meltdown. I cried and cried, cursing my professors for the piles of homework that has accumulated on my desk, the exams I have to study for, and the lack of time I have to do any of it. College is a stressful experience, to say the least, and I can't seem to remember why I signed up for it. However, after some consolidation and reassurance from Thomas that I actually can do it all, I calmed down. He really knows how to ease my stress and put me in a better mood, every time I lose all control. Not that I do that a lot, but still, he's there for me no matter what the situation entails.

So instead of ranting more about my stresses, I should probably be diving into that aforementioned work. I hope everyone has a great rest of the day!

xoxo,
Sarah

P.S. My chocolate supply in my room is about to run dry. This is not good! Also, I felt the photo pictured above fit well with the gorgeous weather we're having, so enjoy!
