It's True, I'm a Gleek

As a true lover of Glee, I can be found listening to the show's soundtrack any time of day. Whenever I'm in the car or on a run, it's a rule that a Glee song must be played. With that being said, there are certain songs that just stick with me.

My two favorite songs of all time from Glee are:

Do you watch Glee? If so, what are your favorite songs?

Runner's high

I finally got some miles in tonight! Let me just tell you, is felt awesomeeeeee!

On a whim, my roommate and I decided to go running tonight. We ran about 2.5 miles down around campus, and then walked the rest of the way back {which is another 2.5 miles...}.

Endorphins all the way, baby! I feel amazeballs. Seriously, I need to go running every night. I think I will. New goal = set.

A Very Potter Weekend

So this weekend, Thomas' mother and sister came to visit....and took us to Harry Potter World! The trip included a huge feast at The Three Broomsticks, numerous mugs of Butterbeer {both cold and frozen} and visits to all the shops.
After all the Harry Potter festivities, we headed over to Del Taco {my new favorite taco joint} for some churros. Mmmm. Afterward, we went to see Limitless {you know, the one with Bradley Cooper}. I loved it {and him, of course}.
After the movie, we decided to hit up a local tapas bar, called Cafe Tu Tu Tango. It's an eclectic and fusion-inspired restaurant, which made it so much more enjoyable. There were belly dancers dancing right by our table, while artists painted right there in the middle of the restaurant. I really loved it. Thomas and I have already made plans to go back soon.

I also saw Diary of a Wimpy Kid this weekend. Hey, no judging. It was such a cute movie. I may have to persuade a certain person we need it for our DVD library...

It was such a long, yet amazing weekend. I really enjoyed spending time with Thomas' family {and briefly seeing mine}. I can't wait until the next time we get to see them!

Weekly Gratitude

I realized really late last night that I hadn't posted my weekly gratitude. Don't worry, it's not too late to be thankful for this past week. So here we go.

Here's what I'm thankful for this week:
-Thank you to my confidence for kicking in during my interview I had earlier this week.....I got the position I was applying for! I am now officially a mentor to five incoming freshman next year. I'm so excited to help them transition into their first year of college. Just call me 'Momma Sarah!'
-Thank you to my absolutely wonderful mother {I always have something to thank her for. What can I say? She's awesome.} for driving my car up to me this morning. I just wish you could have stayed longer...
-Thank you to Thomas' mom and sister for not only taking me out to lunch today, but dinner and then a movie afterward. I had such a great time. Seriously guys, go see Diary of a Wimpy Kid. SUCH A CUTE MOVIE!
-Thank you to Thomas' manager who gave us three free meals just for knowing Thomas. How awesome is that? She wouldn't let us pay for anything...and we got dessert.
-Thank you to the awesome package I got in the mail this week. It came from France! Yay to winning giveaways!
-Thank you to the fact that there is only a month of school left. Can I get a Hallelujah?

I want more chicken tacos

Top: Forever 21, Skirt: Forever 21, Wedges: Ross
I need to start being consistent in my posting. As in, I need to post every day. I blame the fact that last night was a lazy night. You know those nights: curled up in front of the TV, watching Food Network and Comedy Central. It was quite the exciting night.

Today Thomas and I ventured out for some food and came across a taco place called Del Taco. Um...where has it been all my life? Seriously, I inhaled three soft chicken tacos within seconds. Delish.

P.S. Don't you just love how the sun is shining in my eyes? Makes for great faces... Oh, and do you see Thomas' shadow? Awkward.

A little on the profressional side

Top:  Charlotte Russe, Skirt: My Roommate's Closet, Shoes: Target
Yesterday was an unbelievably busy day for me, so you'll have to excuse my absence. On the other hand, I had an interview today! Don't I look business-like and professional?

It feels so good to sit down and relax right now. Feels so good to take a breather {even though I still have homework at this lovely hour in the night...} It's okay, though. I have an awesomeeeee weekend planned with my guy and his family, so I'm looking forward to that.

P.S. Excuse the location of my roommate and I are slobs. Well, she is {that's her side of the room I'm on, hehe} When I say slobs, I just mean lazy. And when I say lazy, I mean we literally walk over piles of clutter in our room to get to the door because we don't want to put the energy into cleaning. Hey, it happens.

Cozy and casual Monday

Top: Target, Shorts: Target, Flats: Target Cheesy/Weird Pose: All me...

The title speaks for itself.

As a college student, I'm constantly walking around campus and I find that dressing to the nines {what does that even mean?} isn't quite comfortable. I'm constantly looking for ways to look comfortable, while still looking put together.
I think it's safe to say that today just wasn't one of those days.
Hey, it's Monday, that should be reason enough.

Now let's talk about the pictures.
My roommate and I had conflicting schedules all day, so I had to rely on the trusty photobooth on my laptop, and take photos in our not-so-glamorous dorm room. Obviously it's not something I want to do on a daily basis, but hey, it gets the job done. Oh, I also included a close-up of my top because it has these three little holes on one of the sleeves. It adds a unique touch to such a simple shirt.

Early end to the weekend

Sometimes he doesn't like his picture being taken...
This morning Thomas and I headed to our usual b-fast spot, but was surprised to find it packed. This never happens! Usually, Thomas and I are two of the only customers {I'm not kiddin'}. No worries, we still got our food {but not Thomas....they ran out of biscuits, so he was a little depressed about that}. Shortly after breakfast, I had to say goodbye to my love and hit the road.
I had to head back to school early this afternoon, which unfortunately cut my weekend time with Thomas short. I had a few things I needed to get back to here at school, and alas, here I am.

This week is going to be extremely busy/stressful, but I'm hoping it'll fly by again like last week. I'm looking forward to an exciting weekend with Thomas' mother and sister {they're flying in from Texas for the weekend to visit us}.

Have any fun weekend plans?

I decided to try something a little different

Top: American Eagle, Shorts: Target, Flats: Target, Hat: Cotton On, Sunglasses: Target
Normally my blog posts are typically about what's been going on in my life, along with pictures. However, I wanted to try and include a few pictures of my daily outfits. I can't promise that I'll post outfits every day, because I don't know if I'll have a daily photographer.
I'm thinking of asking my roommate, but she's super busy, too. Which brings me back to why I just wanted to experiment with this for a while before fully committing.

Now, before I start, please realize that I don't really have a certain style. I love wearing different styles and pieces, and not really committing to anything. I wear things mostly for comfort, but of course I still like to try and look good doing so.
Most of my pieces are from low-end stores such as Forever 21, Target, American Eagle and H&M.

I don't like to spend too much because I'm currently a struggling college student.
Yes, I am now a stereotype.

Weekly Gratitude

For some reason, this week flew by (hey, I'm not complain'). One second it was Monday morning, and the next thing I know, here I am, writing this on a Friday night. Needless to say, it felt pretty great not having much to do this week.

Here's what I'm thankful for from this week:

-Thank you Daylight Savings. I was able to go out running at 7 p.m. this week! How crazy it that?! I loved it.
-Thank you creators of Glee for finally bringing Kurt and Blaine together. Makes my heart so happy!
-Thank you, Mom for talking to me when I walk through campus late at night after my lab. I get creeped out so easily, and it's great that you're there for me in times of need.
-Thank you to the scary raccoon who decided to not attack as I was walking through campus. Seriously, I thought it was going to get me...
-Thank you to the Burger King on campus for having iced coffee. Even though it was waaaay sweeter than I would have hoped, it still did the job.
-Thank you Forever 21 for donating 100% of today's online profits to Japan. They need all the help they can get over there.

Hope you all had a wonderful week.
Here's to hoping next week is just as good!

It's almost Friday!

And here's what I'm looking forward to this weekend:

Catching up on one of my favorite magazines.
Laying out by the pool, aka trying to get some color, finally!
And going on a date with the boyfriend.

Can't wait to relax!

Do you have any special plans?

Howdy, folks!

Ignore my title, I'm suffering from lack of sleep and that's all I could come up with.

How was your weekend? Too short, you say? Yes, mine was, too.

Here's my weekend in pictures
Technically, I saw that cute fuzzball on Thursday, but I just wanted to include his precious little face in there somewhere.
Note: I am not a weird cat lady. I have two cats (one is mine, the other is the family's) and I just love them to pieces because they are cute. I may have many more when I get older, but I repeat, I am not a crazy cat lady. I just think they're cute, okay? Good.

Weekly Gratitude

 It's Friday!
I'm actually sad it's Friday, though.
It means that I have to go back to school in two days, which is so not cool.

But here's what was cool about this week:

-Thank you to my best girlfriends. Without them, I wouldn't of had such an enjoyable SB at home. Really, it was so great catching up with them again. Love you two.
-Thank you to my amazingly awesome mother. You do so much for me all the time, and I appreciate it more than you know. You're my best friend and I love you so much.
-Thank you to my sweet, precious cat. You're so fluffy and cuddly and you always know how to make me feel better when I'm feeling down.
-Thank you to all of my siblings for being extra cute this week. Missed you guys.
-Thank you to the Cheesecake Factory waiter who let me decide on what I wanted to eat for almost 20 minutes after ordering my drink. Such a long menu!
-Thank you to my boyfriend for comforting me during the many times I've had stress breakdowns this week. You rock.
-Thank you lady at Forever 21 who let me return my top without a receipt in exchange for a cute, pink spring dress at no charge to me. Sorry for all the trouble!
-Thank you to Twitter for keeping me updated on all the earthquake/tsunami tragedy info. My thoughts are with all of the victims.

Spring Break is all about catching up, hanging out and of course, heading to the beach.
And that's exactly what I did yesterday.
Lindz and I hit the waves {technically it was too cold to go in the water} and had a long, relaxing day a la playa.
Twas nice, but now I'm burnt.

Mini road-trip!

Yesterday, Thomas, Nik, Lindz and I drove to Orlando. Thomas needed to get back to school and had work later that night, so we all decided to pile in the car and enjoy being out of our hometown for a few hours.

And we did enjoy it. It was so nice to just get away for a few hours and catch up with each other. We (of course) went shopping and then went to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. Nik and I had never been there before so we were very overwhelmed by the 25 page menu. Yikes!

We ended our huge meals with a piece of chocolate chip cookie dough cheesecake that we split three ways. So good, but so rich.

You know what's super awesome?
No? Well, I'll tell you.

Being told you're officially a VIP at your favorite breakfast restaurant, which grants you a special discount at each and every visit.

I told you it was awesome!

Thomas and I were given a special VIP card at our favorite breakfast joint because we frequent it so much. We loved it so much before the discount, but now, they've stolen our hearts.

How was your weekend?

I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.

The weather has been gorgeous {well, sorta} and I'm home with my family. Couldn't ask for anything better. {Except maybe a new's not the best week for my car right now. It had to go to the car doctor today.}

I don't really have any concrete plans for this week, though. Maybe I'll get some sun at the beach, go on a mini road-trip with my favorite girls, spend some q-time with my lover boy and cuddle with my kitty. I'm also going to try and fit some recreational reading and some homework in there, too.

I just love Spring Break.

Do you have any special plans?

Weekly Gratitude

One of my favorite blogs to read is Christine's. I love that she blogs about style, fitness, music, cooking and more. However, I've come to find that one of favorite things that she blogs about are her "Weekly Gratitude" posts every Friday.

I love how she gives thanks to those who have helped her get to the end of the week. I love it so much that I would like to incorporate a "weekly gratitude" each and every Friday into my own blog, too.

So, here's my weekly gratitude for the week:

-Thank you for Spring Break this week. It is much needed after such a stressful last couple of months.
-Thank you to my wonderful best friend for skyping with me. I've missed you so much and it was so great finally catching up with you.
-Thank you to my lab instructor for writing me a letter of recommendation in less than two weeks notice. You're the best. Seriously.
-Thank you to my professors who offered extra credit for attending class this week, and for one of them canceling class so I could go home sooner.
-Thank you to my boyfriend for trying to spend as much time with me as he can while still going to school full time and working more than 40 hours a week. You're amazing.
-Thank you to my family for making plans for when I arrive home on Sunday.
-Thank you to my roommate for listening to me whine and complain about school, and for bringing me a midnight cookie at midnight.

I got new lipstick

So this weekend, I bought two new shades of lipstick.

Let me just tell you, I'm in love!

I bought an orangey-pink shade (that apparently is in season right now- go me!) and a bright pink shade.
Thomas told me the bright pink makes me look super tan.
I love it already.
Please try to ignore how weird I might look- focus on the lipstick!
