The Hangover 2

Two nights ago, Thomas and I headed to the movie theater with a few other people to see the Hangover 2. After falling in love with the first film {yes, I love crude humor}, I just had to see the second one. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint.

Although Alan {Zach Galifianakis} stole the show with his one-liners and awkward facial expressions, Phil {Bradley Cooper} and Stu {Ed Helms} brought it together with their quick wit and sexy bodies {okay, okay, so that was just Bradley Cooper...}.

I won't say anything else about the plot because I don't want to ruin it for anyone reading this, but I will tell you one thing: Go see it! So worth the price of an overpriced movie ticket.

Craving happiness

Usually I don't like to discuss things like this on here, but I can't help but shake this mood that's been taking over me, and I just needed to get it out. Over the past two weeks I've been unhappy. Unhappy with my body, eating habits and overall lack of physical activity. Now, if you know me, I usually try to get in at least five days of physical activity during the week {I try to change it up day after day and go running, find and do workouts on the web and/or just have days of strength training}, and I'm pretty good at keeping up with this regimen. Except for now.

Living with Thomas has made me less willing to opt for healthier meals {when he wants pizza, I seem to want it, too} and cut down on my workouts. Unfortunately, these habits have made me sluggish, irritable and extremely self-conscious about my body. My self-esteem is pretty non-existent these days.

Needless to say, I am unhappy. I've slowly gotten back into working out again and I've been trying to cut back on the not-so-healthy foods, but let me tell you, it's really not all that easy. Finding the motivation to get back on track is hard to find, and I'm really trying my hardest to find it each and every day. I need to find it, again. I crave happiness!

Growing up so fast

Being away from home is hard {like I've mentioned before}. But what's worse is being gone for so long that I don't get to see my little brothers and sister grow up. It seems like every time I see them they've somehow doubled in size.

Why do they have to grow up so fast?

Happy Two Years!

Today marks the second year of Thomas and I's relationship. I know two years might not seem like that long, but hey, to us, it's important!
We wanted to do something biggish, so we got all dolled up and headed to the Melting Pot. Just looking at the menu resulted in gaining 20 extra pounds, but let me tell you, everything was absolutely amazing. I'm so in love with that little expensive fondue place.
Our My favorite meal was the chocolate. Obviously. We ordered the Cookies and Cream Marshmallow Dream. It was so good that we asked for two plates of dippers. I don't think I can say it enough, but I am in love with the Melting Pot.
 I love you!!!!

Renovated

Last night, Thomas and I couldn't stop talking about talking about how delicious chocolate chip pancakes sounded {okay, so I was the only one talking about it...}, so this morning we got up relatively early and headed to my favorite breakfast joint, Village Inn.

The second we pulled in, we were quite surprised to see how different it looked. Apparently during the weeks of neglect, they decided to renovate the entire restaurant. It looks so modern and chic now. Thomas and I couldn't stop talking about it! Spongebob was even playing near our table, so obviously I was a happy camper...

And yes, my chocolate chip pancakes, scrambled egg whites and bacon were to die for. I pretty much cleaned my plates. Yes, plural. But, of course I knew it would be. Chocolate for breakfast is always a winner in my book.

Discovery

I discovered something glorious today.

Something that I didn't even know existed all these years.

It's a place that I am more than happy to share with everyone because, well, it's amazing.

Today I found the greatness that is Victoria Secret Outlet. Seriously, it is da bomb. $2.50 for a pair of VS panties? Win. $5 for a bra? Even bigger win.

I walked away with 9 pairs of glorious panties for under $25, which I'm pretty proud of. VS Outlet can do no wrong. I'm in love.

At a loss for words

Sometimes, I just don't know what to say.

I want to be one of those bloggers who find time to blog on a daily basis, but ya know, I just never have much to say. I'm sure I could write for hours on how I have spent a seriously sad amount of time watching shows on Netflix this past week, but why would I want to bore you?

What I'm trying to say is, that I apologize for not blogging as much I would like to, but sometimes there's just not too much to actually blog about.

So until something interesting comes along, hang in there with me. I promise I'll get interesting again.

Weekend Recap

Okay, so the title is a bit misleading. I honestly did nothing of significance on Friday or Saturday, so let's just call Sunday my weekend. I guess I should have titled this as "Sunday Funday," but it's getting late, and my creativity juices have stopped flowing.

Anyway, getting back to yesterday. Thomas and I were itching to get out of the house and catch a movie, so that's exactly what we did. After making a pit-stop at Einstein's {I ordered bacon, egg and cheddar cheese on a honey wheat bagel thin with an iced coffee and a cup of fruit- oh my goodness, it hit the spot. Why haven't I been introduced to these delicious sandwiches sooner in life? I'm never ordering a bagel and schmear again!}, we headed to the theatre.

We saw Bridesmaids, and let me tell you, I definitely didn't agree with all its raving reviews. The first half of the movie was, well, awkward. It was so slow that Thomas and I were considering taking a field trip to another movie. But low and behold, the second half of the movie kicked in, and we began to get some laughs in.

Thomas and I agree that our two favorite scenes were the plane scene and the car scene. Once {or if} you see the movie, you'll know what I'm talking about. We seriously couldn't stop laughing. In fact, we're still quoting lines from the movie...

After the movie, we were hungry {even after buttery popcorn and a box of Bunch-a-Crunch} so we drove around and somehow ended up at the Cheesecake Factory. I ordered the Shepard's Pie, while Thomas got the Smokin' House BBQ burger. We both agreed that my choice was the winning dish of the night. {That never happens. Usually it's the other way around, which makes sense because Thomas does know a good amount of what foods work well together because of his school.}

We ended the meal with a slice of Oreo cheesecake. Best decision of the night.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

A day of doing absolutely nothing

The title pretty much sums up my past three days.

I've found that when I'm not working, I'm home doing, well, nothing. My best friend has become Netflix, and I'm actually quite okay with that. I can finally say I've watched the entire series of Ghost Whisperer. Not that I'm proud of it...

In all seriousness, I was supposed to be taking summer classes while I'm here in Orlando, but because of many complications, I've decided it's best to not fight with financial aid anymore, and just wait for next summer. It's not what I had planned, but it certainly solves many of the problems I'm currently dealing with.

Why does life have to be so stressful at times?

Leaving is hard

Helllllllllo!

I realize I've been MIA for a few days, but guess what? I'm back! Unfortunately I can't get any sort of internet connection, so I'm relying on my phone for now, so you'll have to bare with the pictureless posts.

Why don't I update you on what's been going on in my life:

-I've been sick and completely lost my voice. No worries, I'm back to my normal self, but my voice isn't all 100% there. Maybe that's a good thing?

-On Mother's Day I left the nest. Quite ironic. I packed up my room and moved to Orlando in order to be closer to my internship. I'd just like to state that I am not handling it well. Everything reminds me of my mother and the rest of my family, and I always seem to get upset at night. Is it wrong to miss/want my mom?

-I've officially started my internship! I love it! Basically, my job is to fact check and research every story for the staff writers. I've also done a few individual projects for some of the staff, too, which is exciting as well. Everyone is really nice and welcoming, which is definitely a good thing. I think I'm gonna like it here.

It's late and I should probably hit the hay, but I hope you all are having a fabulous week!

Catchin' up

Since I've been home for almost two weeks, I thought I'd use some of the time to catch up on some of the shows I've missed. One of them being Trueblood.

Last year, I sat down and read all of the Sookie Stackhouse books and then watched all of the first two seasons of Trueblood so I would be ready for the third, but then never got around to watching it {school kinda sorta got in the way}.

I'm already halfway through the third season and lovin' it. Bring on the blood! {It's a vampire show, for those of you who are unaware. It's also really juicy, too!}

Ten things currently making me happy

I haven't done one of these lists in a long time, so I figured now would be the perfect time to document ten things that are currently bringing joy to my life.

1. My mom's tomato and zucchini dinner dish. Beyond delicious.
2. Spending time and catching up with my girlfriends.
3. Making chocolate chip muffins in the afternoon.
4. Finally finding the perfect lace top after months of searching numerous stores. Success.
5. Spending the day with my little sister. Love the q-time with my girl.
6. The beach/weather. Florida weather is doing its thang, and it feels so good!
7. 'I Miss You' texts/calls from my loverboy. Verrrry soon we will be reunited.
8. My furball of a cat climbing on top of me while I'm working out/on my yoga mat. Although frustrating at the time, looking back it was the cutest thing ever.
9. My mother. Just, everything about her. She brings so much joy to my life.
10. Homemade milkshakes. Neopolitan ice cream with bananas and milk, blended. This will change your life. Delish.

Water For Elephants

Earlier today, I ventured out of the house and went to see the new film, Water For Elephants. Word to the wise, please go see this movie. It was sooo good!

It doesn't hurt that I read the book last year and absolutely loved it, but really. I mean, what's not to love? Elephants, the circus and a love story all in one movie. Sounds like a win to me. But to be honest, after seeing Robert Pattinson play the lead role pretty much won me over. Kudos, Robert. Kudos to you. You are a gem. Marry me? Okay, that sounds a little desperate.

But seriously, marry me?

Perfect day for the beach

When I woke up this morning, it was an absolutely beautiful day. It wasn't too hot out, but was still quite warm, making it a perfect day for the beach.

So, I picked up my best friend and we hit the sand.
The water was cool, but we immediately got adjusted.
I was in heaven.

A day at the beach, was just what I needed to help get over this weird illness
that I've acquired during this past week.
